Overview

Assists Engineers in support of the Lockheed Martin Facility in Orlando, Florida in application of principles, methods, and techniques of engineering technology by performing the following duties. Ideal Candidate would have experience using Microstation or AutoCAD for industrial type projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Assists in the development of probable construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
  • Attends client meetings.
  • Assists in the analysis of data received by others to plan and design projects.
  • Prepares design computations and applies engineering fundamentals.
  • Performs design of portions of projects under direction of Project Engineer, or other responsible staff member.
  • Understands and utilizes engineering technical terminology.
  • Prepares reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and permits for projects, under the direction of Project Engineer or other responsible staff member.
  • Perform site/field investigations to collect data for engineering assignments.
  • Instructs draftspersons and designers, and supervises daily tasks.
  • Provide advice, guidance and mentoring for drafting and engineering designer staff.
  • Provide technical support to other staff in area of expertise.
  • Uses AutoCad in calculation of dimensions and distances.
  • Be able to visualize from two dimension to three dimension.
  • Ability to produce drawings in three dimension.
  • Performs CADD drafting to produce designs into non-routine final drawings.
  • Produces designs and drawings from vendor’s and manufacturer’s catalog and technical data.
  • Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in Systems Manual Volume II.
  • Research discipline-related code issues and present interpretation.
  • Perform checking of one’s own work and work prepared by drafters and engineering designers.
  • Provide coordination of all applicable project discipline’s drawings and specifications.
  • Promote communications, cooperation and quality among staff.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • Microstation and/or AutoCAD Design Software
  • Minimum of a high school/GED diploma and 8 years experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 7 years related experience
  • BS degree and 5 years experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
