We’re looking for a Project Manager Aerospace to join our dynamic team in our Melbourne office. Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of the assigned Project and the achievement of the project vision, goals, and objectives. Their primary responsibilities are to lead the project teams and to plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities concerned with specific construction projects associated with the project and look for synergies between the various projects. The Project Manager is also responsible for coordination and integration of the various stakeholders involved in the program and tracking funding from the various stakeholders to specific uses.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan various projects within the assigned program, including establishing the baseline cost, baseline schedule, and cash flow
  • Assist in the pre-qualification, selection, and contracting of design professionals
  • Direct the A/E firms in the design process, and monitor their progress in terms of design appropriateness, design to budgets, and schedule to meet the needs of the project and/or program
  • Assist in the pre-qualification, selection, and procurement of construction contractors to build the specific projects
  • Identify the  preferred delivery method for a specific project (Design/build, CM at risk, or general construction, within the constraints of the client procurement regulations
  • Review the construction contractor’s implementation plans, to include project management plan, procurement plan, safety plan, and general means and methods to identify any risks in the plans
  • Create a program/project risk register to identify and mitigate potential risks to the successful completion of various projects within the program
  • Direct the team to obtain the necessary permits, environmental approvals, and licenses necessary to construction the projects
  • Communicate weekly, or more often as necessary, to the various stakeholders the key performance indicators of all projects within the program
  • Lead, mentor, and Manage the project managers on an on-going basis
  • Assist in the interpretation of the plans and specifications of the projects
  • Manage or create a Project Controls team to create the controls systems for the program in terms of cost, schedule, document control, and procurement.
  • Confer with Owners, supervisory personnel, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, RFIs, change control and management, and any issues that may come up on the projects
  • Pro-actively facilitate in resolving conflicts within the project team
  • Implement a strong safety program for the program
  • Investigate any safety incidents and provide written analysis of how to prevent additional safety incidents in the future.
  • Manage the commissioning, closeout, and turnover process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills. Person must demonstrate the ability to lead a team of individuals to accomplish the overall  project vision, goals, and objectives
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with clients
  • Knowledge of the built environment infrastructure, including buildings and infrastructure. Launch complex experience or pharmaceutical and piping experience a plus.
  • Experience as a Project Manager, and further, multi-project management experience. This experience should encompass all aspects of a project or project life-cycle, from planning and design management, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Understanding of critical path method scheduling
  • Understanding of Earned Value management procedures
  • Well versed in managing cash flows, and budgets
  • Management of Project Controls (Cost, schedule, budget, procurement, document control)
  • Experience in managing general contractors and trade subcontractors
  • Experience as a construction manager is a plus
  • Degree in civil, mechanical or industrial engineering or architecture
  • Minimum of 15 years experience
