Overview

BRPH is looking for an Interior Designer for your Orlando, Florida office. The Interior Designer coordinates construction installation review and has the ability to work in all phases of small to medium sized projects and / or specialized phase of large, complex projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May serve as prime contact of firm with clients, consultants, and public agencies. Participate in project design Prepare and conduct client interviews. Consolidate information into a Program Document outlining square footage and personnel requirements.
  • Initiate preparation of Equipment List gathering electrical, plumbing, and special HVAC requirements from client.
  • Has knowledge in preparing Schematics, to include Block & Stacking Plans.
  • Has knowledge in Space Planning.
  • Has knowledge in preparing complete set of Construction Documents. 
  • Has knowledge and general responsibility for technical implementations of design concepts during construction documents, specifications, building, & construction administration. 
  • Has knowledge and general responsibility for code compliance as it relates to ADA and Life Safety. All plans to be reviewed and coordinated with Architect of record throughout the design process, (schematic thru final construction documents).
  • Prepare reports and specifications. 
  • Provide coordination of all applicable project discipline’s drawings. 
  • Prepare communications with outside consultants.
  • Has proficient knowledge of computer aided design drafting to produce designs into routine final drawings and performs CADDY operations. 
  • Prepares presentation boards. 
  • Has understanding and general knowledge of construction techniques and constructibility as it relates to interiors; flooring, partitions, ceilings, and other finish materials. 
  • Assists senior staff with construction site visits to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawings review, attend construction site meetings, review RFI’s, prepare ASI’s, PR’s, prepare status reports, per the contract documents. 
  • Review of outgoing submittals.
  • Responsible for job specific standards, practices, and quality, as defined in BRPH System Manuals.
  • Review project schedule & budget worksheets as it relates to specific projects.
  • Assist senior staff in the development and coordination of a furniture bid package (when requested).
  • Maintain and monitor project profitability.
  • Assists senior staff in development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinates manpower allocations as it pertains to assigned projects. 
  • Attends weekly scheduling meetings with department. 
  • Encourage continuing education efforts toward staff/personnel professional growth. 
  • Promote mentoring between Interior design staff. Specifically, to include support and encouragement for NCIDQ certification. 
  • Maintain administrative / technical documents required by senior staff as it pertains to the management of Interior Design projects. 
  • Assist senior staff with clarifications pertaining to billing invoices. 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies. 
  • Marketing duties & responsibilities:
    • Participates in marketing efforts and client presentations when requested. 
    • Maintain client relationships and develop new revenues thru continuing services.
    • Active member in a professional trade organization. 
  • Contract duties & responsibilities:
    • General knowledge of preparation and use of interior design / architectural contracts.
    • Identify modifications of project scope as described in the legal contract and pursue additional services when acceptable.

Qualifications

COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILS:

Must be proficient in the use of:

  • Revit
  • AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Excel and Word

Must gain experience in the use of:

  • Adobe Photoshop

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Four year degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience within the Interior Design / Architectural
  • Must be authorized in the US without sponsorship.
