We’re looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our dynamic team in our Atlanta office. Individual must hold a degree in Interior Design with limited experience in professional office. Requires basic understanding of design and planning principles with ability to interpret and document design concepts. Must have drafting ability with knowledge of drawing techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain knowledge in client interaction and communication.
  • Participate in project design effort.
  • Assist in the preparation and conducting client interviews. Consolidate information into a Program Document outlining square footage and personnel requirements.
  • Assist in initiating preparation of Equipment List gathering electrical, plumbing, and special HVAC requirements from client.
  • Gain knowledge in preparing Schematics, to include Block & Stacking Plans.
  • Gain knowledge in Space Planning.
  • Gain knowledge in preparing complete set of Construction Documents.
  • Gain knowledge and general responsibility for technical implementations of design concepts during construction documents.
  • Gain understanding and knowledge pertaining to code compliancy as it relates to ADA and Life Safety.
  • Gain understanding and knowledge of construction techniques and constructibility as it relates to interiors; flooring, partitions, ceilings, and other finish materials.
  • Assist in coordination of all applicable project discipline’s drawings.
  • Assist in preparing communications with outside consultants.
  • Has knowledge of computer aided design drafting to produce designs into routine final drawings and performs CADD operations.
  • Assist in preparation of presentation/color boards.
  • Participates in the review of outgoing submittals. Responsible for job specific standards, practices, and quality, as defined in BRPH System Manuals.
  • Familiar with project schedule & budget worksheets.
  • Assist senior staff in the development and coordination of a furniture bid document.
  • Assists senior staff in maintaining and monitoring project profitability.
  • Coordinates with senior staff allocating manpower, in efforts to meet project deadlines.
  • Attends weekly scheduling meetings with department.
  • Maintain administrative / technical documents required by senior staff as it pertains to the management of Interior Design projects.
  • Assist senior staff with clarifications pertaining to billing invoices.
  • Develops professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
  • Marketing duties & responsibilities:
    • Participates in marketing efforts and client presentations when requested.
    • Maintain client relationships and develop new revenues thru continuing services.
    • Active member in a professional trade organizations.
  • Contract duties & responsibilities:
    • Identify modifications of project scope as described by senior staff. 

Qualifications

COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS:

Must be proficient in the use of:

  • AutoCAD
  • Revit
  • Microsoft Excel and Word 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Four or two-year degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited college or university.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
