Overview

BRPH is looking for a Contracts Manager for our Melbourne, Florida headquarter office. Our contracts manager position will oversee the complete life-cycle of contracts related to complex construction, architecture and engineering services projects, including government contracts. This impactive role requires a deep understanding of industry-focused contractual frameworks and a proven ability to ensure that all agreement-related processes are conducted efficiently, compliantly, and pro-actively to mitigate risk and support business goals.  The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have extensive experience in contract negotiation and administration with a proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful contract outcomes.  

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Contract Management and Negotiation

  • Develop, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and amendments with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure contracts align with project objectives and comply with laws, regulatory standards and company policies.

Contract Administration

  • Monitor and report on contract execution, deliverables, milestones, and obligations.
  • Manage change orders, claims, and variations while protecting the company’s interests.
  • Maintain contract documentation, including correspondence, reports, and records.

Risk Assessment and Management

  • Identify and assess contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, especially for government contracts.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Monitor adherence to contract terms, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and other requirements for government contracts.
  • Provide updates to senior management on contract issues, resolutions and process improvements.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between project teams, legal counsel, and external parties on contractual matters.
  • Support business development teams in reviewing contract terms during project pursuits.

Contract Life-Cycle Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive contract management framework to support the company’s construction, architecture, and engineering services.
  • Manage and create processes across the complete contract life-cycle from initial opportunity to closeout.
  • Design KPIs to measure the contract management program’s effectiveness and drive continuous improvement to support scalability and organizational goals.
  • Create and deliver training for internal teams focused on contract-management practices, compliance, and risk management.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong familiarity with commercial and government contracts, including FAR/DFARS.
  • Experience in resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments or subsidiaries. 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled at implementing and operating construction project management programs, policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in establishing contract management software.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office Suite.

CERTIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)

  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM)
  • Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS)
  • Proficiency with contract administration tools required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The work is semi-sedentary work and requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
  • Ability to stand and sit for periods longer than 30 minutes but not to exceed two hours consecutively.
  • Ability to control behavior when encountering stressful situations or short deadlines and to maintain a high level of concentration.
  • Ability to print and draw letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols that are legible and understood by others.
  • Ability to learn complex tasks and remember how to complete tasks without assistance once trained.
