Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team in our Lockheed Martin Facilities office. This position will manage multiple projects, multiple design disciplines and be the client service representative for the company. The individual will lead and manage the design team and the design process by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage no less than ten (10) design professionals in the preparation of design documents, administration of construction, and management of inspections and building permitting.
• Exhibit proficiency in managing architecturally lead projects and engineering lead projects with an intimate working knowledge of the project requirements and design issues of multiple disciplines.
• Oversee deliverables, administer instructions, and answer questions from the Owner during the life cycle of the projects.
• Responsible for ensuring adequate internal controls and review procedures are followed in order to eliminate conflicts, errors and omissions and for ensuring that all technical requirements are met for each project.
• Supervise, mentor and coach the staff and supervisors of staff to develop their skills and qualifications.
• Effectively communicate with the design team, construction professionals, and Owner.
• Applies diversified knowledge of architectural or engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
• Makes decisions independently and represents the company to resolve important questions.
• The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work results from progressive experience and education.
• Assignments usually include complex tasks and calculations with limited technical guidance on non-standard issues. Must coordinate with and help resolve conflicts with other disciplines based on an excellent understanding of the design process.
• Prepares reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and permits for projects.
• Understands codes and standards and has ability to research code issues, present interpretation, and properly apply in the daily work.
• Visits construction sites as needed to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, attend construction site meetings, review RFI’s, prepare ASI’s, PR’s, prepare status reports, per the contract documents.
• Duties may include, or assisting in, supervising, coordinating and checking the work, as well as instructing, leading and mentoring other staff members.
• Perform checking of one’s own work and work prepared by drafters, designers, and other professionals.
• Promote communications, cooperation and quality among staff.
• Must be proficient in the use of: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Project, and Word
• Promotes and represents the firm in a professional manner.
• Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH Systems Manuals.
• Develops proposals and agreements for assigned projects.
• Responsible for meeting project schedules, timely completion and quality of assigned projects.
• Assist in marketing and presentations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Twenty (20) years of experience as an architect or engineer.
• Technically competent to sign and seal construction documents.
• Must have experience in managing small to midsize projects.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or industrial projects.
• Experience managing multiple projects at the same time.


CERTIFICATE, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possess a Certificate of Licensed Registered Architect or Licensed Professional Engineer.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The work is semi-sedentary work and requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
• Ability to navigate and move around the construction site, which may involve walking, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand and sit for periods longer than 30 minutes but not to exceed two hours consecutively.
• Ability to control behavior when encountering stressful situations or short deadlines and to maintain a high level of concentration.
• Ability to print and draw letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols that are legible and understood by others.
• Ability to learn complex tasks and remember how to complete tasks without assistance once trained.
